I know none of you are the type to have camped out early for today's sales... or even to show up at 5am... most of you are probably more likely to have participated in the "Occupy Walmart" movement - or some other such thing.

Though, there probably are a few of you who took advantage of some sales today... maybe just online at least (like I did - for jewelry supplies)...

Anime Banzai 2011

Just a quicky to let you know that I'll be at the Steampunk Themed Anime Banzai in Layton this weekend. In the Artist Alley, all day and most of the night on Friday, Saturday & Sunday in the Davis Convention Center.

Running around trying to get ready... have to get stuff out of storage and go pick up Phil from the airport...

Lots of new stuff, but no time to show any right now... gotta run... try to post some later from the hotel.

And I'll post where I am in the Alley tomorrow when I find out too... or I'll tweet it... ;]

Last Minute Park Silly

Hey Gang,

Was asked to fill in for a fellow PCPAA at Park Silly this weekend (the best to her family!) so I have one more Silly Market Sunday this 18th.

I'll be at the top of the hill next to the info tent... in a tent... and you can come see the new stuff from last week and chat and laugh and eat beer flavored popcorn... well... maybe Mike will have some up at the Farmer's Market (next to the Post Office) - or you can ask him to make you some. I asked for Margarita flavor. He's working on it. ;]

It's the Tour de Suds day as well, so... bikes and beers. And wire sculpted and vintage bead jewelry. AND... um... Sillyness.

Holladay Harvest Fest This Saturday

Hey everybody... Hope you all had a great long weekend.

Speaking of which, Thanks to everyone who stopped by Park Silly this past Sunday... and I hope to see some of the Salt Lake folks this Saturday evening at the Holladay Harvest Festival (4pm to 8pm) too.

Featured Artist at Park Silly This Sunday

Yep. That's right. I'm the featured artist (booth is set up next to the Main Stage at the bottom of Main - near the Beer Garden). So...

I'll be making jewelry while I sell it (well, hopefully I'll have some help selling). So, there will be new jewelry (some of which you've seen here in the last few months) and new jewelry being made.

If you want to pick your own (or bring your own) stone and have it wrapped or sculpted; this Sunday is the day to do it.

Hope to see you this Sunday (the 4th) on Main Street in Park City (Utah;)... or you can catch me in space #14 at the Holiday Harvest Festival on September 10th too.

In fact, it's tomorrow... and I'll be sharing a booth with Janet, who does beautiful jewelry... we'll be at the top of the hill by the entrance, in a white tent, full of jewelry.

Going to be teaching more beginner jewelry classes at the Kimball this fall too, so keep an eye out for that as well.

Class Time

Two More Days To Wire Wrapping Class

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day!

The weather has been great around here and, even though some people might not be as happy with it; since it hasn't affected us much this year; I love how full and fast the river is (that I get to cross barely above everyday)... sorry. No picture. I'll try harder next time. ;]

So, just two more days til the start of my first teaching gig at the Kimball Art Center over in Park City. Still room for a couple more students - (no experience needed) - for the Wire Wrapping Class which starts Thursday at 6pm. It runs for 5 weeks and you'll get to learn all the basic basics of wire wrapping that will let you start creating great works of your own personal jewelry art. Well... that's what I think you'll do with your new found skills anyway.

Plus... The materials fee includes everything you need to make all the jewelry in the lessons: a bracelet, necklace, a couple three pairs of earrings, rings, and a pendant. Plus, you'll get your very own travel tool kit (6 mini pliers in a zipper case), bead mat, & some polishing cloth (for straightening and priming your wire). Did I mention Vintage Beads are part of that class stash too? Yep, straight out of my own private stash.

Oh, and if you sign up for the class from my blog, leave a comment here and I'll make sure you get a little extra Vintage something with your materials (though, I'll probably give it to you separately after class so the other students don't get jealous;).

AND, I also wanted to let you guys know that I picked up an extra date for Park Silly. Going to be there on July 3rd (at the PCPAA booth space) and I'll let you know where that'll be when I find out - on Main Street somewhere. I'd guess. ;]

I'm Teaching Classes!

Hey everybody! I know. Long time no blog.

Still living at home with a broken computer and limited internet/computer access. Though, I do have a simcardless iPhone now. But, it doesn't really work for me with blogger, yet. Hopefully soon - or I finally get my computer fixed - or can afford to get a new one - either way.

Anyway...

Going out of my way to spend my limited computer time letting everyone know that I'll be teaching classes at the Kimball Art Center starting next Thurs! If enough people sign up that is... think there are 4 or 5 spots left... They do the assessing tomorrow so, if you want to take an ABSOLUTELY Beginner Wire Wrapping Class in Park City (Utah) on Thursday nights for 5 weeks, get online and sign up now! It's absolutely no experience necessary & the materials fee even includes your very own (zipper cased) travel tool kit! So, you can practice at home if you want.

Everyone in the Beginner class will learn to make jewelry similar to this:

With different beads and stones and stuff, of course.

Then, when that class is over, I have a Necklace and Bracelet Finishing Class (2 Thursdays) where you'll learn to make the ends of your jewelry look like this (as well as how to suspend beads with crimps along wire like the bottom necklace shows):

And; the last Summer class I'll be teaching; an Intermediate Beginner Wire Wrapping & Sculpting Class starting in August (4 Mondays)...where you'll learn to make wire jewelry similar to this:

No soldering or glue... you'll learn to hold everything together just by placement and wrapping. I'll be teaching the basic techniques in a way that you can figure out your own designs and style too.

Going to be a lot of fun and just what a lot of you have been asking for. So...

Ok... My Mac is still waiting for the parts to get fixed. Hopefully by the end of the month. IN the meantime, all newsletter communication is suspended, since all my photos are on the Mac and it's virtually impossible for me to upload, edit and add pictures to the newsletter - or the blog for that matter - on public computers. However, I will be sending a newsletter out as soon as I can add pictures again and, I'll also put up pictures of new jewelry here too.

If you can't wait that long to see some of my new jewelry, you can always come by and see me in the parking lot of Broadview University at 240 E. Morris Avenue in Salt Lake from 11am to 2pm tomorrow (Saturday the 16th).

Wire Wrapping Classes, Anyone?

So, hope everyone had some great holiday experiences and your New Years is full of bubbles and absent of regrets!

I'm keeping this short, but informative - well, at least I'm trying to.

Meant to get a lot of new stuff up on my Etsy site this last week, but couldn't find the display hand and neck (as seen in other pictures in my store) in my storage stuff, which means it's buried deep... and last week was so dark, I couldn't seem to get any good lighting breaks for pics without them either so, might not get anything new up until I can figure out my options with my current limitations.

Which brings me to my current limitations:

This is my workroom for the winter. It's also my bedroom. The door and shelves are where the closet used to be. The bed is a queen size and up against the far wall, the table is 32" square, and yes, that is a suitcase in the left corner. That black mass on the floor to the right is my cases of jewelry and a few of supplies. The rest of my supplies are 20 miles away in storage.

So, I wasn't able to get that studio space and am still staying with my parents in the boonies... BUT, I AM in negotiations to use a place up at Kimball Junction for teaching classes. I'm planning to teach basic Wire Wrapping for the first class - all materials and your very own tool kit included, 2 hours, 3 techniques for $90 - and basic Stringing and Finishing for the second class.

If you'd be interested in taking the Wire Wrapping class next month, leave me a comment to this post so I can have a bit more leverage to bargain with - to use the teaching space. Once I have enough interest, and have secured use of the space, I'll post the class date/place and registration link along with pictures of everything you'll get and learn how to do.

Oh, and I'm starting a Birthday Club subscription for next year as well. You'll get several options to choose from (including which type of stone you want - the definitions of which you can see Here). This first year, I'm making everyone who joins the club a pendant similar to these ones:

Super Saturday is the Last Market of the Year

Well, the Holiday Market at Trolley Square is at least... which is tomorrow, which is now being dubbed: Super Saturday! I feel like you should say that with cartoon echo emphasis though... ;}

So, I have two new pendants - both not real Emeralds, but simulated lab stones (that's real lab grown stones that are colored to simulate Emeralds).

The first one is BIG and is in Jewelers Brass (non tarnish). The stone is 16x12 mm (24mm is an inch) and it's swirly and loopy and... well, see for yourself:

The second one is a little 12x8 mm Emerald Spinel teardrop in 14K Gold Fill, with a 14K Gold Fill chain included when you come by Trolley Square tomorrow to get it:

So, those are the two newest pendants I'll have with me from noon to 8pm in the auditorium to the right of the 600 South Atrium entrance at Trolley Square tomorrow.

Holiday Market in Trolley Square

Hi-lo there.

Well, I had that cold thing that was wicked and made my head feel like it was gonna explode and every tiny little bone and muscle in my body ache. I got over it, but it took more than a week. My advice: Don't get it!

Ok. That said. I'm all better. Spent a couple days getting my custom work finished - mostly - but nothing new to show you for this weekend. This what? The Holiday Market at Trolley Square...

I'll be in the Auditorium, which is to the right of the Atrium when you come in through the South Entrance off 600 S.

There's gonna be all kinds of great local arts and crafts and food AND a Food drive; so bring some non-perishables to donate.

Starts at Noon and goes to 8pm.

I'll have a nice selection of jewelry with me, but if there is something you particularly want me to bring, let me know. If I don't have what you want, I can make it for you next week and bring it on the 18th. Yep. Two Saturdays in Trolley Square in a row. So... if you can't make it to this one, you get another chance.

December Means... Um... Happy... Er...

Howdy Hi everybody!

I made it back to Utah... and then got a cold... BUT, now I have to get myself all spiffed up for another round of weekend Arts & Crafts Markets in Salt Lake City.

Yep. I'm scheduled in for the next three Saturdays. However, I don't really have anything new to show you... but I kind of do... but the picture is terrible... Ok... lets see if I can get it to look good enough to put up.

See, terrible picture. The pendants are all Argentium Sterling and the ring is 14K Gold Fill... can you tell? They look great in person though... and the ring is a Mystic Topaz (and really small;).

Oh well, those won't be with me this weekend anyway.

However, some other stuff will be... and I'LL be at the Winter Market from 10am to 8pm on Saturday (the 4th). In Artist's Alley, where there's a central cash register. Which is why I'll have limited stock. I had to tag all my stuff with special codes and write everything down so they had a list of everything I'm going to sell. Since I could potentially have more than 100 codes if I put out my usual number of pieces, I pared it down to 60 codes and stretched my definition of "similar" so I could use the same code for items with the same price. Which means I'll have a select selection of jewelry for sale... Some of which you can see pictures of in posts before this one... Pretty much all of it actually.

So, ya. I'll have a better selection next week at Trolley Square... and maybe I'll even have some new stuff to show everyone? Not sure. Let you know next Friday...

Calico Holiday Weekend in Moultrie Time!

Once again, I am in Georgia to go back to Spence Field in Moultrie for another Calico Arts & Crafts event. This time it's the Holiday Show and I'm bringing two bags full... that might be a mixed analogy but um, I'm too tired and hungry to know for sure.

Ok. Before I show you what I made this week for the show this weekend, let me show you what I made from things I found.

This is like the prototype for a Momento necklace. The center stone was given to me on Brighton Beach (yes, the original one in England) by the bass player on the Swans tour (Chris). The bead is actually a piece of Merscham pipe that was broken up along the bank of the Thames in front of the Naval Academy in Greenwich, the stone is a Moss Agate I found in Hiddenite, and the Malachite is because I like it.

Now, here's the new stuff (plus a pendant I finished when it was too dark to take a picture of, so I'll add that tomorrow - and delete this;)

This I made last week and put in the Newsletter first. Now it's going to Calico. 14K Gold Fill and a 6mm Natural Citrine (November birthstone).

14K Yellow Gold Fill with 14K Rose Gold Fill wire & Copper Petal bead caps. Oh, and Labradorite, Turquoise, and 1940's Venetian beads.

Pretty much the same as above, only with Lapis instead of Turquoise.

These are in Sterling Silver with 1950 vintage Japanese Silver Foil beads and Rainbow Flourite.

Sterling again with 1940's Venetians, Amethyst and Lapis.

1940's Japanese Aventurine Butterfly beads with 14K Gold Fill (Rose Gold Fill wire) & Carnelian.

Also 1940's Venetians in Sterling with Amethyst - and Charoite and Emeralds.

These are in fully tarnishing Copper wire and 1970's vintage glass beads. Only had enough to make one necklace or two bracelets. I did, um, two bracelets.

This is Argentium Sterling Silver and a 16x12mm Lab Blue (Corundum) Zircon pendant that was just made yesterday.

And that's what I'm bringing with me that's new. Plus a lot of other things on things also on view in this blog. Plus a lot of stuff you will only see if you come to the show.

New Jewelry for Peachtree Jewelry Expo

Ok. So... UK was fun... and emotional... and exhausting. Had a great time!

Got back Sunday night and caught up with stuff for two days (like sleep) and have spent the last three days making stuff. Yes, I am in Georgia. I brought a LOT of stuff with me to make jewelry. I didn't really make that much since Wed., but here's what I have for tomorrow:

So, you can see that and some of the stuff from earlier blogs AND some stuff I've had tucked away for a while (like really nice pearl sets with 1930's Rhodium and Rhinestone spacers) in person tomorrow. Though, you can only do that if you're in the area near Peachtree City (or already drove up for tomorrow's big jewelry event).

It's happening tomorrow (Saturday the 6th of Nov) from 10am to 6pm at the Kedron Fieldhouse & Aquatic Center (in the Gym) located at 202 Kedron Drive in Peachtree City. I'll be in space E2 (which should be right there in front of the bleachers as you enter the Gymnasium). The Peachtree City Jewelry & Accessory Expo is the talk of the whole area; I'll tell you. Everybody who's anybody is planning to come.

Which means... I expect to see you there tomorrow too!

The Road More Traveled

So... I'm on my way to GA. Day one - the longest drive - is behind me and it's all still long ways each of the next, but not as and more winding... Plus they lead to friends at the end of the day ;}

Then... I get a day of rest and visitation and then a nice Red Eye to London... Yay! More friends (long time haven't seen them) and catch up with Swans for 4 dates of the UK tour. Really looking forward to that! I'd see every show Phil ever played - if I could.

Back on Halloween (I'll be wearing the mask of exhaustion) and then make, make make to get ready for the Peachtree City Jewelry Expo on the 6th and the Calico Arts & Crafts (Moultrie) on the 13th & 14th.

THEN, I get to jet up to PA (Macungie and Philly) for a couple of Jewelry Parties and then up to Minneapolis to visit my Dad; THEN back to Utah for more Jewelry Parties and another weekly Market. New one indoors on State Street.

Well. That last one is still tentative...

Anyway. I still have room for more Jewelry Parties on the way back. So... if you're on the way to Minnesota from Philly (Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, or Minnesota anyone?), drop me a line and get yourself penciled in for November 21st or 22nd (depending on how far you are from Philly/close you are to Minneapolis) or 23rd or 24th if you're on the way from Minnesota to Utah (Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Far Northern Colorado).

New Jewelry for the Last Downtown Market

Well, I have a sale going on in my Etsy store until Wed (the prices shown are already reduced)... I'm heading off to GA (and then the UK and then back GA) on Monday... Tomorrow is the last Downtown Salt Lake Arts & Crafts Market of the season AND, I have a Jewelry Party tomorrow night too... I've been a leetle crazy busy this week.

This Friday, I Have New Stuff to Show

Ok. Last Friday I had nothing to show because I was away all week and made nothing new.

Where was I? Incase you forgot; I was out watching Phil beat the hell outta some drums on stage with the Swans first couple nights of the new tour. Yes. It was amazing and I wanted to travel with them longer but...

I came back and then had bad internet connections and nowhere to work until Wed... But, I did get roasted on Saturday at the Downtown Market (cause it was like 90F) and went to a really nice birthday party Sunday and then it rained a lot all week. This morning, the humidity was 80%. Kinda like Oregon in the high mountain desert of Utah... Though, it was a bit too cold to start wire wrapping in the mornings so, I did only have a few hours of solid non-arthritis bothered wrapping each day this week. Yep. I am whining a little bit...

Finally supposed to be a clear, warmer, day tomorrow though. Just in time for the second to last Downtown Salt Lake Arts and Crafts Market in Pioneer Park. Where I will be from 8am to 1pm on the street side of 400 S next to the City Weekly tent. Like usual.

Didn't get to make a lot of new stuff since I spent most of my jewelry making time working on custom orders this week but, I did make these:

[These got made because I had a special request for a simple more square know like ring. Obviously, one of these didn't quite fit the bill, but the other one came out ok. However, it was too big so it goes out into the general ring box now...]

Next week is the last Saturday to come out to the Pioneer Park Market for the season, and I will have a lot more new stuff next week... then I'm taking it all to Jewelry Parties and a couple Craft Shows in GA; with a brief flyover to catch up with Phil on the tour again. I love being a groupie!

Rings, Rings, & More Rings! And Max...

So, I only had Mon-Wed this week to make jewelry and Wed was just custom orders... which means, I seriously cranked out some rings on Mon and Tues! I made over 50 $10 rings and a dozen $15 ones. Plus, some lovely cameo and faceted gemstone rings. Wanna see what I got?

Ok. Here they are..

I made almost all these rings on Monday and all but one of the spiral rings on Tuesday:

Thurs, I was taking care of my mom's geriatric terrier and cat. Max, the terrier wasn't doing so well and when my mom got home, I had to drive her and Max to the vet. We came back without him. Heart failure was the diagnosis. He was an amazing dog. He was at least 15 (probably older) and had Cushings, was blind with cataracts, deaf, had senile dementia and was a little indomitable tank that kept going longer and stronger than any batteried up bunny! Even though he was also incapable of getting outside to do his business (we won't miss that part!), we miss him.

So, here's a picture of Max back in June, when he was able to get himself up on the porch and in through the door again (something he hadn't been able to do for over a year). The vet said they get better before they get worse, and he sure did!

Max was an inspiring little guy and we'll miss him!

However, sad as the family is about Max... I'll still be at the Pioneer Park Market, in the usual place on 400S, tomorrow. So, maybe I'll see some of you there trying to get your favorite ring(s) before someone else does?

Brand New Pendant Styles... & Other New Stuff For Friday

This is the last Sunday for me at the Park Silly Market (back in my old spot on the side of Kimball across from Zooms)... and I'll be at Pioneer Park tomorrow (in the same spot I'm always in between City Weekly and the handmade wooden toys)... just 5 more of those including this weekend...

Um, I had a lot to say about new jewelry and my weird week, but I lost it in the black hole in the back of my head. So, let's just get to the pictures of the new jewelry...

Ok, so this is the new NEW stuff. Pendants. Turquoise, Silver, Lapis, Malachite, Rainbow Moonstone, Bear Grylls like raft of Sterling. Waves of Silver Plated and enameled Copper wire with Rainbow Moonstone, Amethyst, Tourmaline, Carnelian. Did I mention they're pendants?

New word pendants in Silver with lots of different stones... OK: Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Tourmaline, Malachite, Agate. Sterling chains are longer than the other ones I had.

Rose Quartz I found in NC and rough tumbled all wrapped in plated and enameled Copper wire. Chunky and funky but totally not clunky (ok, so I might be losing it...)

Lab grown Emerald Spinel, Sapphire & Ruby Corundum wrapped in Argentium Sterling Silver and 14K Gold Fill wire. Got a little long on me, but I still like 'em... you?

Quick thanks to Terry for throwing a Jewelry Party last night. And to all her friends and family that made it so wonderful to be at!

Terry was partying for charity last night so that meant that her hosting gift was a piece for an upcoming auction and instead of getting 5% of the total sales in free jewelry at the end of the night, she got 10% going to The Sharing Place instead.

2 new Cameo Pendants...

Resin reproduction cameos in Gold Plated and enameled German Wire.

Plus 2 new, totally new never been made style, found local stone and gemstone bracelets...

A milky Agate with 3 kinds of Opal chips and Carnelian in Brass.

A cool Sandstone Quartz I smoothed out with a Dremel and wrapped in Brass with Baltic Amber, Rose Quartz and Rainbow Moonstone.

And that's what's new for this week.

I'll be at the Downtown Salt Lake Market tomorrow, in the usual place, and then I have to hurry home to clean out the trailer, AKA my studio, so it can be prepared Sunday to be taken away for an Oregon trip on Monday. So... I'll be winging it for making stuff next week and the week after that... But, I'll definitely get some stuff made and pictures up for you to oogle next Friday non-the-less.

A Week of Jewelry in Three Days

So, all of you regular readers, friends and family know:

I moved to Utah this Spring to live with my folks and here I am while Phil is in NJ getting ready to start the rest of the month rehearsing for the world tour that starts on the 28th... AND, he was here visiting last week... AND, I got severe vertigo and nausea mid visit and I'm still getting over the dizzy...

Ok. That established...

I spent Monday on the couch not moving (cause stuff spun when I did), Tuesday catching up on e-mail and making a couple pendants for a custom order, and the last three days making jewelry for this weekend. Ok, actually, I only made two pairs of earrings on Wednesday. I made most of what follows yesterday and today...

Can you say: Making up for lost time?

Ack Ack Blah!

Ok, I know... you were all waiting for my weekly Friday update and it wasn't there. Well, neither was I. As it were. I've been sick (say like droopy dog in the cartoons). Really. A bit better now, but taking the day off from the Saturday Market in Downtown Salt Lake non-the-less. Since I still have some dizziness and yucky tummy feelings. AKA: nausea.

So. That revealed, I also have no pictures for you. Sorry. I actually made a couple of things on Monday - practice for custom work so I would be all warmed up before I made the custom stuff - and that's it. Two twisted wire rings and a cameo pendant. No pictures.

I will though... have pictures. But... well... I might put them up later today. Depends on how much I get done and how wonky I feel.

Still planning to go to Park Silly tomorrow so still have to get ready for that AND, get to bed REALLY early so I can not feel so horrible while I'm there. That's always good when you're by yourself and feeling kinda, um, crappy.

So. If you're in Park City tomorrow, and want to cheer me up - or bring me some crackers - or buy some jewelry... I'll be down in front of the Banhoff again just up Main Street from 7th.

New, New, New, New... Well, A Few New... It's The Friday Update

So, I got some new laser cut beads... some Brass plated in 18K Gold, some Brass plated in Copper, and some Copper "dipped" (plated) in Silver. So, I made some rings (All priced at a mere $10 each):

And... I made some 5mm Natural Peridot rings - one in Argentium Sterling Silver and one in 14K Gold Fill (a little bit more than the other rings price wise, but still a bargain - oh, and they're shown the other way around too fyi):

And I wrapped one of the Moss Agates I found in NC (and tumbled) in Argentium Sterling Silver as well (thinking about putting this - and some other pendants I made - on a necklace of it's own... whatya think?):

Now, I'm getting them all ready for Market and then taking them off to Salt Lake City's infamous Pioneer Park and the very Silly Park City Market this weekend. Usual places (though, I'll be at the bottom of the hill on Main in Park City this week infront of the Banhoff just off 7th), yellow umbrella, new taller tables and no banner... :{

Does Anyone Know Where My Banner Is?

Well, Craft Lake City was fun... Met a lot of great people and the bands were all really good and I got to hang out with my cousin... but... When I was putting everything away and heading home; It was dark and I was tired and hadn't really eaten that much... and I forgot to take my banner down off the tent (the tents were provided).

The venue didn't have it and the organizers don't have it and I was hoping that one of my neighbors grabbed it for me before they left... but no one's come forward yet.

Would really like to have it back by this weekend for the Markets on Saturday and Sunday... don't have time to find fabric, buy paint, print and cut out lettering, and make a new one before then... So... has anyone seen this Banner:

Craft Lake City is Tomorrow... & I Have New Jewelry...

Hey Ya'll! It's Friday and you all know what THAT means! Yep, I have to get up at an ungodly hour to get my butt off to a show... No! Tomorrow I get to wake up at a normal time and get there at 11am! Yay!

Craft Lake City starts at 2pm! Yay! And goes until we can't see what we're doing (that would be 9pm).

I'm bringing a lot of jewelry. Gonna have two tables set up... like a real craft show set up tomorrow! Stuff I wouldn't normally bring to the Market in Pioneer Park AND, of course, all the new stuff you see here:

Notice how I didn't put in what it all is? Well, that's because I don't have time. Gotta get everything packed up and ready to go and it's already 6pm! AHHHH!

Oh, and tomorrow, I will also have an extra table set up so I can make rings and pendants RIGHT THERE. On the Spot! Yep. While you wait like! Yes, I have enlisted help for tomorrow. So, I will be making whatever I can while I can still see what I'm doing (probably till about 7pm).

Get there early if you want me to make you a ring or pendant while you stare at me... or go off and look at other great crafty things and come back... whichever works better at the time...

Won't know what spot I'll be in til I get there but, I'm loading in on the 200 S side of the Gallivan Center (between Main and State) so, I assume I'll be somewhere near that entrance. Under a tent, with my sign hanging behind me (unless the wind is whipping and then it'll be hanging on a table...).

The Pendants' The Thing...

Ok, I'm feeling a bit old today, so I'm making the pictures bigger than usual... "Large" instead of "Medium" whatever that means... ask Blogger, I don't know.

Of course, I always use "Large" font... for the more visually challenged... like me;}

Off to Downtown Salt Lake Arts & Crafts Market again tomorrow, and while Phil was around visiting last weekend and I didn't make anything new or blog... I know, you missed me, right?... a little?... Well, THIS week, I made a bunch of new rings And a handful of new:

Yes, that butterfly is purple... Well, they call it "Amethyst". I have other colors too. Next week. Oh, they're all two tone too.

I also got around to making some new rings, but only a couple. WAy too hot! Seriously, after 11am or Noonish, it's way over 80F in here and no AC and no way I can keep from sweating which means no way I can make as much jewelry as I want to...

So, here are the two new Faceted Gemstone Rings (in Argentium Sterling):

8mm Lab Grown Ruby and a CZ Emerald. Differentish designs than usual... because my hands were starting to slip and slide and I'm lucky they came out at all let alone as nice as they did.

Also did a bunch of new Knot and Wavy (cause you asked for it) Spiral wire rings. {Finally. I only had two left after last weekend!}

Markets and Rings

So, I have a newish ring design - three of each bead and three metals (well, all Copper but two are plated and then they're all enameled so they're non tarnish...) AND five new faceted gemstone rings in Argentium Silver for this weekend's Markets. See:

How does $10 each sound? Well, that's what they're gonna be. Sizes range from 4 to 8 and each one is a different size... half sizes, quarter sizes, eighth sizes, nine different sizes in three metal and three bead choices so you can see which one fits best... as always; no two are exactly alike.

Or, get a new non tarnish Sterling Silver faceted ring:

There's a London Blue Topaz (size 5), Lab Ruby (size 4.5), Natural Blue Sapphire (size 7.5), gorgeous Natural Amethyst (size 7 and a bit more unisex), and a Natural Garnet (size 6 1/8). All very different and very lovely on.

Craft Lake City, Here I Come!

So... Hope you all had a good 4th!

Found out I got accepted to the 2nd annual Craft Lake City Arts & Crafts Show at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake... coming up mid August and hosted by Slug Magazine (who did an interview with my cousin Matt last year).

That's good.

Should be a rip roaring good time... as a matter of fact... and I'm taking that day off the Downtown Market so I don't get burnt out by the end of the night. See, I get up at 5am so I can be ready to drive an hour to get set up by 8am... then go to 1pm. The CLC show starts at 2pm and goes to 9pm, with music going later. So, if I go to the Downtown Market, then I'll have to pack up early to be set up by 2pm and I'll be totally wiped out by 5pm so... I wouldn't be able to enjoy it as much.

Plus, I plan to do a full (two table) set up under a tent for Craft Lake... but, I'll rant more about it later when I give more details in August.

Will be at the Downtown Salt Lake Arts and Crafts tomorrow though, in the same place along 400 S in Pioneer Park. I made a couple new little Catseye pendants... had to order more wire so I can make some more knot rings and cameo pendants though... oh, and I had to order more cameos too... so... you'll get more of those next weekend.

Well, it's time for another weekend of outdoor vending fun!

Listening to Phil's latest composition and sweltering in my little trailer studio (give you visual next week;). Checking e-mails and getting ready to put my Etsy store on hold while I head to bed so I can get up at 5am to get to Salt Lake City by 7am... it's an hour's drive...

Yes, back in the same place in Pioneer Park along 400 S tomorrow morning from 8am to 1pm and then up early again on Sunday to hang out on Main Street in Park City for the Silly Sunday Market.

Got my silly hat this time... unless it's too windy (whew it was brutal that wind last weekend!) Gonna be bright and sunny both days though - and a mild mid 80's in the high desert sun.

If I look wilted by the time you get there, please feel free to bring me back some ice and try again. Thanks!

Gettin Silly on Sunday

Well, I survived the rain last Saturday (thanks to Kristin for letting me borrow a canopy!!) and will have a sunny day to test out my new umbrella tomorrow AND Sunday.

Yes, my weekly stint in Pioneer Park continues on Saturday and then, on Dad's Day (happy happy to the dads!), my first day at the Park Silly Sunday Market. Hurrah!

Did I mention my umbrella is Lemon Yellow? Well, maybe Canary... it's yellow. And I'll be under it both days.

I have rings for dads too... you know.

And for Grads...

And for, um, yep.

Anyway. Saturday, Downtown Salt Lake 8am to 1am. Sunday, Main Street in Park City from 10am to 5pm. On the 400 S side of Pioneer Park on Saturday (in the middle on the street side by the giant ATM machine). Between Heber and 7th on Main Street on Sunday.

Come to the Market

Well, I got back from NM - Cloudcroft was fun and so was the stroll through all the National Parks on the way down and back up - and almost immediately the river we cross to get here started flooding and washed the road away on our side; first time since anyone remembers. That got fixed, then I got sick.

However, I feel much better, even though it's pretty cold and rainy today... And, it's my first Saturday at the Downtown Salt Lake Arts & Crafts Market in Pioneer Park tomorrow. Looks like the arts and crafts will mostly be along the 400 S side of the park - that's where you can find me on the street side close to 300 W (in space B18 incase you know where that is;).

Looks like I'll be out in the open tomorrow, so make sure you come by and keep me company. I've got the umbrella, just no base to put it in (supposed to be here next week;) so I'll have a big straw hat on if it's sunny... and if it rains... well... I hope it waits until we're all packed up... ;]

Ok. I have a ton to do to get ready for my EARLY rise tomorrow (before 5am!) so, I'll put some pics up next blog....

Mayfair: In the Clouds of NM...

Well, I meant to do this before the show, but I had limited access on the trip across and down and then I had to make rings... Silver with faceted gemstones mostly...

Mayfair... Cloudcroft, NM... it's beautiful up here... amazing coming up from the heat of the desert to thick forested, back in time, mountain town in the clouds. Great people, cool mountain air, surrounded by tall pines and really nice people... Did I mention how nice the people are?

Think I might come back next year...

Burr Ridge Spring Crafte Fest

Hey everybody...

Well, it's been a grueling week. I had a bad throat thing from last Thursday and it put me outta commission and then I didn't make it to Satellite 2nd Saturday cause of weather and time issues... we were packing and loading like maniacs from Tuesday until noon yesterday. Everything in my body hurts! I think I even pulled a muscle in my brain ;]

So, most of our stuff is on the way to Utah (found a few odds and ends after the trailer left and had to chuck a lot of stuff), and we're in Ohio getting ready for another day on the road.

Winding up in Burr Ridge, Illinois tonight (hopefully a bit early so we can get some serious sleep), so we can get up at a ridiculous hour to set up our tent and tables and cover them with shiny pretty things in the Burr Ridge Village Center for the Spring Crafte Fest.

Show goes from 10am to 5pm tomorrow (May 15th) and Sunday (May 16th), and we'll be there under the white tent with the yellow (hand painted) Custom Adornments banner hanging up in the back.

I made some new covers for my tables and have a new set up planned... oh... and I made a ton of new jewelry too. Lots of men's rings (pharaoh style) and some cameo rings too. There's some other new stuff as well.... but since I'm in a hotel with the laptop and don't have the pics to show you, you'll just have to come by and have a look. If you're nearby that is.

So, we're going to pack up our stuff now and hit the road.

Maybe I'll see some of you in Illinois this weekend, the rest, probably not.

Well, I just heard that the Augusta Craft Show - Crafts from the Heart - scheduled for April 24th, has been cancelled. So... Looks like I won't be going back down to GA this month. I am, however, planning to head back East and South this Fall, so look for me down there at the beginning of November...

In the meantime, looks like that's it for April shows. Unless I can get a last minute booking this coming weekend or next one... Let you know if I can and do.

However, that opens up a lot of spots for the North East Coast people who want to get their pre-Mother's Day Jewelry Party dates scheduled...

Just a quicky today... far too hot in my apartment for computers to be on and making more heat - did you know we're having a Summer Heat Wave in NY? It's more than 80F outside right now! Inside, might be a little cooler, but not much. And, incase you hadn't noticed, it's only early April! Phew! I need some ice!

Calico Spring Arts & Crafts is Go!

Well, Georgians... I am coming your way.

Setting up a table or two at the Calico Spring Arts & Crafts Show in Moultrie, GA this Saturday and Sunday (that's the 20th and 21st... also know as the Spring Equinox weekend). Should be sunny and warm and I'll be indoors if it isn't so...

I have a whole new collection debuting. Yep, I finished the U Rock Collection. Here are two more pictures of the Sterling versions:

All of these are in Non Tarnish Sterling Silver. The necklace has Smoky Quartz, Jasper, and Agate. The ring is Blue Aventurine Quartz. The bracelet is different types of Quartz and Jasper. The earrings are different types of Quartz.

These earrings are different types of Quartz, mostly Smoky and there's Citrine too. The pendant is Blue Aventurine Quartz. The necklace is Moss Agate and Bloodstone.

I found all the stones at Hiddenite and put em through the tumbler a couple three times. Stopping off again on the way down to try my luck at some more gems. Hopefully I'll have a lot of good ones to learn to cut on this Summer...

So ya...

I made a bunch of new faceted gemstone rings this last week too, and some more matching Labradorite pendants and earrings in Sterling. Making a few adjustable rings now and will be making some more swirly knot rings too. If I have time, I'll even make a couple more faceted gemstone pendants as well. Getting down to the wire though and I have to leave on Wed... that's in two days... to get there in time. So, not sure how much more new jewelry I'll have with me. So, anyway...

That means I'll be bringing a whole slew of new jewelry down with me.

If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by and say HI! (That would be the Custom Adornments table, don't know where I'll be til I get there though, just know I'll be inside.)

I'm going to bring a few supplies so I can make some stuff on the spot (if there's time). Plus, if come by my table this weekend, and you say you heard about it here, I'll deduct the price of admission from your jewelry purchase (for all sales over $50)!

Happy Spring - well, there's still a lot of snow on the ground, but it's warmer than 50F outside and the windows are open! Listening to the Mourning Doves cooing outside in the trees and getting ready to head down to Georgia next week for a Spring Equinox weekend craft show.

Before I get into the whats what for the upcoming show (do that in the next blog later this week), I have some pictures and stories to show & tell you today first.

This is Hildreth. She's practices Rosen Bodywork and makes the most adorable teddy bears and elegant aprons. (Right now, you have to contact her directly to get one) She bought the earrings in my Etsy store and then got the necklace a few months later at a home Jewelry Party. I traded a couple massage sessions for half of it...

I just love the combination on her. Don't you? I think we both did pretty well.

This is the finger of Chris. Chris found this stone, had it cut, contacted me on Etsy, sent me the stone (from another country), I made the ring with it and sent it back. I love it when a plan comes together!

Doesn't that look great? That's a 9mm Peridot, and one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen! Very happy customer. Very happy ring maker!

This is Lisa. Her daughter came to the last Winter Tight Knit in Troy and got this for her mom because, as the story goes - the way it was told to me, her mom's birthday is St. Patrick's Day. Oh, and because she thought her mom would like it and the colors were right for her.

I think it was a great choice. So does Lisa. Yay! Glad Lisa sent me pictures too!

You know, these last few months, I've actually made quite a few custom rings (all but one via the internets only and never meeting) all with very happy customers as the end result. I don't have pictures of those other rings on fingers but; if you just happen to be one of those someones who has some jewelry I made; you are more than welcome to send me pictures for inclusion here (or just so I can see it on you if you're shy).

Um... Nearly Three Feet of Snow Later...

Ok. It looks like they're clearing the roads pretty good around here, and not much else is sticking, right now, but it hasn't stopped snowing since I wrote my last entry (just before the power shut down temporarily and I didn't bother to turn the computer back on...) yesterday.

Took more than an hour to dig out the front walk and two cars. Wanna see how much snow was on em? Ok:

Was a little worried I might not make it to the last Tight Knit tomorrow. If it snows a lot more tonight, and isn't cleared before I have to leave at 6am (yep, that's when I have to leave to get there by 8am to set up by 9am), then I may not be able to get out of the complex (condo apartments). Though, I am packing the car as soon as I finish writing this just in case. I'm feeling hopeful since it's been pretty warm since we dug out, so there hasn't been any accumulation on the cars or walk since we finished and it's looking clearer all the time.

You know I drive like 2 hours to get there and another 2 hours to get back so, if I can get there, you can. That, and it would also be nice to have a lot of people show up and support all the amazing Tight Knit talent too! Plus, just to make it more interesting for ya'll (and because this is my last craft show in NY State for I don't know how long), I'm going to be giving everyone who comes Saturday and buys my jewelry 20% OFF... Really! (All you farmers reading this, I am still totally up for some jewelry for food barter too...)

Olympic Theme Song Weirdness

Oh, I remembered what else I was going to write yesterday... Keep forgetting to do this since the Beijing Olympics! Seriously can't believe I keep forgetting this... is the suspense killing you yet?

Ok, this is it:

The new Olympics music is actually the theme song from the tv series: The Adventures of Brisco County Junior! You know, with Bruce Campbell? The guy from Evil Dead...

Anyway, I noticed it during the Summer games. Freaked me out because I had just watched the first couple discs of the series (of 8 discs sent from Netflix of course) and I was watching the Olympics and was like, I recognize this music, what the... and when I got the next disc, sure enough. They didn't even change the arrangement much for Beijing. At least for the Winter games they have a better, more Olympic appropriate, arrangement! Oh, and I just read (on Wikipedia) that NBC is using it for baseball too! Apparently, Mr. Edelman has been reselling it since the show went under - I just wasn't watching the type of sports shows it's been used on so didn't notice until they started using it consistently through the Olympics.

Oh, and the Brisco theme song was originally written just for that series. Of course, I hated that theme song. Sped through it in fast forward while I rewatched (and caught the episodes I missed when it originally aired, which were actually most of them). Super cheesy and didn't really fit the show; in my opinion. Have to admit, I do like the new Olympic arrangement though. Much improved, and it fits much better than it did for the series.

So, ya. That's what else I was going to tell you yesterday... As if you care;]

Last Winter Tight Knit

If you were planning to come out to see me at this winter's Tight Knit Craft Market in Troy, but just haven't gotten around to it yet, well... this Saturday is your last chance.

This Saturday will be the last Tight Knit until Summer, the final craft market for the Winter, and you know I won't be back in Troy this Summer for that version because I'll be in Park City, Utah again this Summer.

In fact, I'll be leaving for Utah mid-May so, you also might want to think about scheduling that Jewelry Party you've been thinking about too... Mother's Day is coming up fast.

Just added some new Amethyst rings to the Etsy store too. Plus one with Amethyst and Aquamarine. That one is just the thing for the woman who only celebrates her birthday once every four years...

Getting all the stones laid out to work on the Sterling half of the U Rock collection too. Hope to have that mostly finished by the end of the week.

The Medium is the Massage!

Howdy raving lunatics what follow my sporadic ramblings - sometimes dotted with acceptable photographic imagery.

It snowed yesterday. People freaked out. I laughed... while I was out walking around in the woods in snow up to my shins. There's still enough snow on the balcony to make a snowman... and I might just do it too... Have a couple things to do first though...

Been running around looking at a lot of blogs this last week. Puts me to shame, actually. You know, when you see these amazingly well graphicked perfectly put together blogs with lots of entries that are all amazing and well written and stuff like that there. Keep thinking I should make some kind of new years blogolution and theme myself up for a month and make myself write something every other day - instead of every other week.

I have tons of ideas and things I want to put to screen, but never seem to be anywhere near the computer when I do. Or, like lately, my wrists don't want me anywhere near a computer at all.

Been tooling round the internets all day and my wrists are SCREAMING right now. No. I will not repeat what they are saying. It's just not acceptable for public print (screen) formats. Yikes!

So, I made some new stuff. Did I tells ya? Well, it's with the rocks I been hounding. A lot of the ones I tumbled... well, partially. They're not all super smooth and super shiny. Didn't want to go that far off the natural. Did manage to figure out how to do Crackle Quartz without heating though! Kind cool. Have a bunch I have yet to photograph and some waiting to be made too but, all the ones I'm going to make in Gold Fill are done and I have some pics... you want a peek?

It Never Hurts to Help

As many of you know, I sent 10% of last months online sales to Habitat for Humanity ($34 rounded up to $35). A lot of people have seen the ads for texting $10 to the Red Cross to help the people in Haiti, and many of you may have even sent money that way. Well, Habitat is trying to raise money to build shelters for all the homeless people in Haiti and would love it if you could send them $10 (or more if you can) too. Since I sent my donation as open use, hopefully it will be used where it is needed most. However, my small contribution will only go so far. But, as they say: Every little bit helps.

To that end, at the end of this month, I'm sending 10% of all online sales to the Natural Resources Defense Council. They've been fighting to keep our air and water safe and our natural heritage alive for years. It takes a lot to keep on top of all the legislation that will do more harm than good, and to let people know and lobby for legislation that will do more good. So naturally, the NRDC can always use financial help, and the lending of our voices, to do that. So far, I've only raised $4 through online sales, but I have two new online stores and am constantly adding new items to all three shops.

Which is to say, please have a look Here, Here, and Here, so you can see if there's anything that makes you want to help me raise more funding for the NRDC. Oh, and keep in mind, if you order custom work online that will also be counted toward the donation total. Whichever charity I'm donating to that month.

Yes, I am choosing a different charity each month. There are lot of worthwhile causes and efforts that I'd like to support. I do sign petitions and write to representatives, but I'd like to be able to help a little more this year. But I need your help to do it.

So... Thanks for helping out in any way that you can and I hope you'll help me to be able to send in a decent donation to the NRDC at the end of this month... And for help supporting deserving charities all through the coming year.

I think I'm waiting for the Lunar New Year to start feeling like the year changed over, cause it just don't feel like it yet to me. You? Been getting pictures taken and jewelry added to my new online store and doing day to day stuff and just realized that we're already over a week into the New Year. Still doesn't feel any different. Anybody else?

Well, I thought I'd take a few minutes to reflect on the past year none-the-less. Though, I haven't really felt like writing too much lately either. Today, I do a bit more than I did yesterday though, so I thought I'd take a stab at it. Ok...

Wow, the year just flew by, didn't it?

Really though... I met a lot of great people this last year and hope to catch up with some of them in the new one. Funny how that works out. We all get so caught up in the day to day that 2 months go by and it's like you just met someone yesterday and still haven't gone out to get that cup of coffee... or tea... or a bagel... or muffin... You get the point.

Ok. I'm just reaching now.

Ok. Just so you know, I follow this blog AND the Twitters. Which is to say, I really think Catherinette Rings has great stuff... very talented for sure... and I'd love to be that good with wire some day.

In the meantime, I'm blogging for additional entries into the give away Catherinette Rings is having - that's going on right now - Because, I have my eye on a Steampunk Sculpture!

Drinking Maple Porter and Blahhhgin...

Mmmm, Maple Syrup flavored Porter. Who knew? Saranac, that's who. It's a surprise in every sip. That's what I'm sipping as I write my current thinky little thoughts and post them for all of you to enjoy or ignore as your heart desires...

Well, today was the last market show for the month - the last any kind of show for the year - and January is going to be all about looking for housing and working on online store updates and such like and stuff. Been a weird old year for us crafter types trying to make ends scrape together selling our wares. Next year is bound to be even weirder, but definitely in a better way.

Not inclined to elaborate on any of the stories of the weird right here, right now, but I will regale some of you with clif note versions at some point (If I haven't already done so). In the meantime; if you've got some weirdness story(ies) from this past year you'd like to share; feel free to write them down and leave all appropriately irrelevant stories just below.

After all... Tis the time for sharing! And making sure the Sun returns from it's Wintery slumber.

Monday is the Solstice so Merry Solstice to one and all. Light a fire, some candles and turn on the twinkly lights. Drink something warm and think warm thoughts of the elongated days to come and the warmth that the Sun's return will eventually bring. And of all the people who make life a bit warmer and enjoyable as well.

Farm Sanctuary Benefit Art Auction

Some of you may have heard of (or like me, even know) Edie Nadelhaft. She's a well known NYC artist recognized world wide for, among other work, her Bovine portraits. Many of the cows in her paintings are actual Sanctuary rescues. All of them are stunningly painted and oddly lifelike. Absolutely moving.

This Thursday, December 17th, the KumuKumu Gallery will be hosting a reception and silent auction to benefit the Farm Sanctuary so, if you come by, you may be able to aquire one of Edie's amazing oil paintings (or purchase a print from Edie's website if you can't) and find out all about the cow in your new painting in the process. You'll get to live with amazing art while contributing to the rescue (and possibly subsequent painting) of more animals at the same time.

Cap'n Trade is Stupid

Environmental Rant alert!

Some of you know I've always been a bit enraged by Obama's announcement that Cap & Trade is one of his Climate Change solutions. Because it's an asinine idea. Doesn't work in Europe, won't work here.

Always been a supporter - and practicer - of the Reduce (Reduce, Reduce first!), Reuse (Reuse, Reuse, Reuse until it falls apart), then Recycle model. I managed the Bernal Heights Recycling Center for a couple years when I lived in San Francisco but I learned that practice long before that from family and educational After School and Saturday Morning TV (ahhh, the 70's;).

I turn off lights and unplug things when they aren't in use and use only as much as I need and try to figure out how to use less whenever I can. I use rechargeable batteries in everything that needs them, compact fluorescents, take my own shopping bags (even the ones for the individual food - I've been doing that since the SF 80's), buy in bulk when I can (from the bulk bins, not huge amounts at discount chains), try to buy only organic or transitional if possible...

My car gets around 35 miles to the gallon, I drive it only when I really have to, and I make sure it's running smoothly to keep the emissions down. When I can afford it, and there are cars made with Carbon Fiber bodies that get 200+ miles to the charge, I'll be getting an electric car. (A completely self contained enviro house is also on the list when the money comes in)

With my online jewelry store; I try to reuse every bit of shipping material I get sent with my supplies (and have a big bucket of the stuff I'm waiting to use) whenever I can (your online jewelry order will let me reuse some more;).

Almost all the metals I use to make my jewelry come from at least some reused, melted down, scrap. That's standard industry practice at this point. And a few suppliers are making a point of letting us all know that some of their metals are 100% from reused. I try to buy parts made in the US when I can (for lots of other reasons too but the closer it is, the less shipping pollution). Plus some of it is vintage and available even closer to my home to begin with. Same with most of my beads and some of my stones. Some stones I'll be using in the near future, I found myself. So no mining involved at all in that jewelry future.

Of course, there is more I could do, but I live in a small apartment so composting and rain water collection isn't an option. Plus, even with home ownership, our society isn't geared toward a lot of environmental household things unless you have a lot of money. Or you renounce all modern living altogether. Obviously, none of us can avoid new things and modern travel and conveniences without going completely Mountain, but every little bit you can do in your personal situation does really help. Some of it could even save you money.

Point is, Cap & Trade just encourages mining and drilling and waste and does nothing to encourage reduction and reuse. No renewable in that equation at all.

James Hansen purports Fee and Dividend instead. I agree. That makes the most sense. And, a few people in the government are moving toward that route with a new bill being worked out now: The CLEAR Act. Not all the way, but in that right direction. So, make sure you write to your government employees (oh yes, you hired them, you pay them - TELL them what you want them to do. That's their job!) and let them know you support the Clear Act and want it stronger in the direction of Fee & Dividend!

Ok, rant over. Now, let's all get out there and make a difference!

Tighten Up the Bulls & Bears!

Ok New York peoples... upstate and, well, really the Brooklyn peoples... Saturday I'm winging my way up to Troy to join in on my first ever Tight Knit Winter Market. Heading up there with my friend Eileen (a real artist) to share a space and spread some holiday shopping cheer.

I've got jewelry, Eileen has fine art and will be making Origami Ornaments on the spot as well. You've just got to get your butt outta bed early enough to get there (I'll be out the door at 5:30 in the morning to pick up Eileen on the way North so we can be there with plenty of time to set up before the 9am start!). Yep, Tight Knit starts at 9am and goes to 1pm so you better be quick!

Then Sunday, Phil will be joining me (probably against his will) for a full day at the Bull and Bear Market at The Invisible Dog in Brooklyn. I'll be taking whatever I have left from Saturday (and some tools and a few things to make rings on demand if I have time) out to Brooklyn to party with the Bull and Bear for the Recession Art event of the season.

For that one, you have no sleeping in too late excuses 'cause it runs from 11am to 8pm! Plenty of time to get your butts over for a handmade shopping extravaganza!

Well, I'm going to try to get a couple things made before tomorrow, so I'm off. Hope to see some of you this weekend, with cash in hand (hint hint;). Ok, I'm happy with a smiling face and a warm - I saw it on your blog - hello too...

Bring Food, Buy Handmade

Well, we raised a fair bit of money yesterday... $618! That means we'll be able to sponsor 2 children for next year. That's food etc. for a whole year for two orphans. Yay everyone who came and shopped!

Today I'm heading off to New Haven, CT, leaving this afternoon, for an evening Holiday Arts & Crafts Market at the John C. Daniels School (map is linked to the Custom Adornments banner in the side bar). Vendor fees are going to benefit Music Programs in CT schools and you can bring food for the CT Food Bank tonight when you come too.

569 Congress Ave in downtown New Haven, 6-8:30 pm. Handmade and one of a kind is sure to be represented by more people than just me.

Time for Indiemade Craft Market!

Saturday is the day. The 2nd Annual, Indiemade Craft Market in Allentown, PA. Last year was such a blast and I've been looking forward to this years event since, well, since the last one was over!

So, 10am is the time to be there... well, maybe earlier cause there was a line waiting to get in last year. Why? So you can Get yourself one of 50 swag bags - and a little catseye pendant made by me - and first dibs on all the handmade goods made by the wonderfully amazing talent that will be there. Yes, I am gushing. You will too...

It's at 1221 S. Front Street in the Starlight Ballroom. You can click on the Custom Adornments banner in the sidebar (under "Come See Me in December") for a map link to the show.

Hope to see you there - I have a new Copper and mostly 1950's Vintage Japanese Lampwork collection I made just for this show. So, if you come, you'll be one of the first ones to get a piece of it - or two...

I know you can't really tell what they look like from these pictures, but I think you can get something of an idea. 5 different beads ranging in date from 1948 to 1953. 6 different necklace and bracelet sets with at least two matching pairs of earrings for each set. First ones to look at them get the option to actually buy a full set, and a nice discount for getting a set instead of breaking them up. Because I'm sure they'll get broken up quickly, they usually do. So if you're coming to the Starlight on Saturday, and like your jewelry in sets (or want to give a different piece of the set to different friends or relatives), make sure you get there early for this new collection in Falltastic colors that are bright and big enough to wear during the winter and summer too.
