Saturdays in Beacon... And Then...

Well, it looks like you'll be able to find me in Beacon for the next 5 Saturdays... then skip the 4th of July... and I'll be there on July 11th too.

THEN, I'll be skipping the state to head West.

Stopping in Arkansas for my exceptionally talented friend Bethany's wedding, maybe scooping up some diamonds the day afterward...

Then jetting over to Albuquerque to drop in on a friend or two before scooting on up to Utah to vend at a couple of Sundays at the Park Silly Market, set up at a few Jewelry Parties, and gear up for a couple selling days at a retreat.

If I can swing it before he flies off to Scotland, I might even bolt up to Montana to visit Bill, and take a side trip for some Garnets before going back down to Utah.

If it wasn't for the crazy heat of mid-Summer in the desert, I'd take a serious side trip to dig up some Opals too... leave that for an earlier - or later - time of the year I think.

Then, when I get back up here, probably be at the Hudson River Market on Saturdays through the last one in September or so.

Still waiting to hear back, but I might be in Georgia again mid-September... I'll let you know when I know.

And I might do a thing in Albany in October. Again, let you know...

Then, for almost for sure, I'll be at this year's Indiemade Craft Market in Allentown. Had such a great time last year, I wouldn't miss this year's!

So, if you're going to be near any of those markets or shows, please stop over and say: HI! Otherwise, if you want to have me stop at your place on the way anywhere in between shows for your very own Trunk Show/Jewelry Party, let me know. {You know that I'd rather attend your parties most of the year, anyway;}

Hopefully, at a whole lot of people's parties in between all those, and preferably for most of October and November. If you want to be one of those peoples, you might want to start planning now. Time is starting to fly already;}

Oh yah, I just finished a bunch of necklaces for Raindance too. I'll be delivering them this Saturday if you want to head over and get yours before they're gone, here's a preview:

From Creative Living 101 (aka It's Art, Damnit!)

Some great Candisa beads from the early 50's (you really can't see how gorgeous they are until you see them in person), and some other gorgeous old Venetian beads on these as well. Plus some precious gemstones and higher end semiprecious (Emerald on one, Larimar, Turquoise, Lapis, & Sugilite on others). 7 new necklaces for this round - all with 40's or 50's Venetian beads - and I'll probably whip up some new necklaces and earrings to deliver to Raindance before I head off to Utah as well. [Remember; I'm only doing this necklace style for Raindance, so if you like what you see, you have to get yours there. It's an exclusive, dontcha know...]

Ok. So that's the news and up and comings. [Can you tell I plan to be a little too busy to type up more than one or two of these before I head out in July?]

All The Cool People Were in the Garden at Hatch Market

Well, I'm finally back from Georgia and I had a great time. 

As with most first time events, there were glitches, but I'm sure they'll get it all sorted out by next year - I'm totally up for a next year it was so much fun! 

I actually got bumped to a different location than I was told due to the glitches, but that was a much better spot so I totally lucked out that way. 

The Garden, where I got bumped to, was cooler in temperature AND in vendor population! We all got along famously and, even though we didn't have as much foot traffic, we all made our money back and then some. We even did a little bartering at the end of the event too. 

There were pergolas and a fountain and we weren't out in 80 degree weather on asphalt! We made new friends and had a good laugh. We all sold enough to make it worth being there. PLUS, I got to catch up with my simply wonderful family friend whom I hadn't seen in twenty years! She's actually the reason I went to Griffin for the show, since she lives close to Griffin. And, to show you how amazing she is, Carol asked ME if she could be my assistant at the Market! What more could you ask for?

This is our neighbor, Jessie, with her father in law and my good friend Carol. We traded a necklace for some hand painted martini glasses. She has cool customized note cards too:

This is Erin and crew (this is from the Mother's Day day so part of the crew was her mom;). Her soaps smelled sooo wonderful, I traded her a pair of earrings for some:

Joy and Tiffin shared a pergola just behind us and to the left. That's Tiffin on the right and um, a Scoop lady I didn't get her name on the left in the green Hatch Market Scoop Magazine shirt and apron. Tiffin had cool hand painted lamps:

This is Amy. She's the manager of The Clothesline in Griffin and coveted much but couldn't trade me for her bosses goods. She is hooking me up with a friend of hers who has a shop in Little Five Points in Atlanta though:

This is most of the gang on the left side of the garden, you can almost make out Amy in the pergola on the right, and the fountain before we got it gurgling on Sunday. I can't remember the name of lovely lady in the front. Darn. She was so quiet, but had some great prints and paintings and was really nice and talented. I didn't get her card though. Not sure she had any:

These lovely ladies are sisters, and were knitting together on Saturday. Kathryn (on the right) had her husband buy her a pair of earrings from me - they looked FABULOUS on her:

They were behind the fountain. After we got it gurgling, a woman baptized her baby in it. Well, we had a church on either side of us and it was Mother's Day, so we all just assumed that's what she was doing. At least she wasn't drinking from it like the two boys the day before: 

So, that's the cool crew from Hatch. Plus, since Erin is on Etsy and so is JoyAnn (who I didn't get a picture of but was in the back pergola behind and to the left of my table with Tiffin), and I'm also on Etsy (and that's how I found out about the show), I will now give you their shop addresses:

You can barely see her just to the left of the gate in the way too bright and hot pass through to the wonderfully cool Garden... the beginning of which, next to the asphalt lot, is where I was supposed to be. 

Ok. To be fair, there were a lot of nice people outside the Garden too. Hutch was the coolest. He was roasting coffee beans in the main area to show people how his coffee is done in Griffin. He also knew people under the tent with us and kept coming back to say hi. Plus, I met a lot of great people who weren't part of the show too. Some of whom were friends of Jessica's and a lot of her husband's friends. Saturday was like a receiving line next to us with all the people he knew coming by to say hi. He was also friends with one of the bands that played on Saturday so it was a party at their table all day. 

Of course, there were some Really wonderfully nice people in attendance too! 

Not to mention the wonderful Scoop Magazine ladies who made the effort and got it done! AND especially all the event location ladies who worked til late Friday night to make sure the tents and tables were up!

I've got a custom ring to make and send and have to send some e-mails to the Hatch people and get ready for the Hudson River Market on Saturday as well (wish us a sunny day cause it's supposed to rain). So I gotta go and get to it now.

New Shows Added

Looks like I'll be selling jewelry in Beacon in one more place:

The Hudson River Market. On Saturdays through Fall, at the lot between Hudson Beach Glass and Riverwinds starting at 10am. I'll have a booth on May 2nd, 16th and 23rd. That's this Saturday, in two weeks and again the week after that. 

I hope to see a lot of you at one of those and, if you're in the Atlanta area, I'll be at the Hatch Market Mother's Day weekend in Griffin, GA. I have booth number 40 in the pass through to the Garden area (first one on the left as you head to the Garden). 

Made a whole new Spring flower collection for the Mother's Day weekend show and finished up my pearl Spring Wedding collection as well. New stuff debuting at that show, so if you're in the area, be sure to come by and get the ones that works for you.

This is Where I'll Be...

So, I got sick as soon as the store was all moved out. I had been holding it off because I didn't have time to get sick. So, it makes sense that once I did have time, that I would get sick. I'm better now. Even though there were snow flurries today. 

In sweat shop mode now that I'm feeling better. Making new jewelry for upcoming shows and what's it. Which are:

Stormville Fleamarket on April 26th. Look for me in the New Section just past the food vendors in Stall #T349. I have a new - regulation for most craft shows - white 10x10 tent so, look for one of those with my name on it and jewelry under it;}

Then, on May 3rd from noon to 3pm, I'll be making customized picture frame jewelry at Paper Presence in Beacon, NY. 

The next weekend (May 9th & 10th) I'll be in Griffin, Georgia for the Hatch Market. I'll be heading south on the 6th and heading back up the 11th. If you live in any of the areas along the route from NY to Atlanta, and would like to host a Jewelry Party, let me know and I'll schedule you in somewhere in one (or maybe even both;) of the directions. 

Hope I'll see some of you at one or more of the upcoming listed above and, that I'll get to do a whole lot more jewelry parties now that I have more free time. Hint, hint;}

It's All-Most-Over!

So, Saturday was the closing day - thanks to everyone who came and drank cheap champagne and brought gifts and enjoyed the evening with us! 

Then yesterday, Sunday, all the remaining jewelry and bits and bobs got thrown into boxes so the furniture could be removed - dragged hither and yon by various people who had use for it. Cleaned out and cleaned up and now the new old store is waiting for new tenants once more. 

Final store closing, unless you count online stores. That one will remain until the remaining jewelry from that chapter is safely in loving hands. Which will then be the final pearldaddy chapter finished and shut.

Exhausted and somewhat relieved, I dreamt all night that I would be going back on Wed, then saw the empty room I had just left behind... 

Bitter sweet. 

So, now I have to rest up for the big reorganizing at the homestead so what's left can find it's way out to the public - and out my doors. Not much, really. But, in such a tiny space, it's a little oppressive. 

Naturally, the next step will be finding more room to work and store work supplies in... 

Enough of the exhausted ramblings. I'll write a post listing my next few "gigs" in a couple of days and again when my website is all updated for the new directions.

Rant and Roll - AND Updates

Ok. So, I did have a big rant planned, but I think I'm all wound down now. I'm sure I'll wind back up, so I'll just start with what's going on this month. And next month. Well, I did manage to eliminate February from the blog roster, and since there is so much going on right now, I just want to put it all in just in case I wind up not writing anything for another month plus. 

So, pearldaddy's last day is March 28th. Going to have a big closing party on that last Saturday - the 28th - and I'll be doing deals all day and we'll party until I get tired and throw you all out after that. One of Phil's bands might play and all musicians are invited to bring instruments and accost our ears until we beg them to stop too. Then, I have to have it all cleaned out and give the keys back by evening on the 29th. So I'm a little stressed trying to get that to happen on schedule while making as much merch and all the display furnishings disappear by then. 

AND, if one more non-buying blankity blank comes in just to ask me "Why are you closing" I might say something not nice. See, I got wound up again. 

Well, not really surprising since I was talking about pearldaddy and Sunday was another day where 90% of the people walking in asked that exact question and walked back out without purchasing anything. Way to answer your own question, don'tcha think? Actually, without fail, every single person who's asked that question hasn't bought a thing. Oh, Wait. I know what I'll say next time: "Let me ask you this: are you going to buy something or are you just browsing?" When they say: "Just browsing." then I'll answer: "Well, you just answered your own question." Of course, what I really want to say will be this: "@@#$(!&&$#)#)$#!$!*#$&%"

And, while I'm at it, Carbon Offsets?! Either you pollute or you don't. Buying someone else's good intentions doesn't make you a better person! And what about all the wasted money NY State has spent on roads that just have potholes - even worse than before - just two months after they're repaved?! That winds up being good for mechanics and just about no one else! Ok. That's the rant - for now;}

Let's see, what else? 

Well, right now I'm really just too busy getting everything sold off and moved out and cleared up at pearldaddy to teach any beading classes, but I'll try again in April. Don't have a schedule yet, but you can check on the Pink Cloud blog site at the end of March and look for the classes taught by Andrea - cause that's me - if I don't get around to listing the classes and dates here before then. 

Oh, and I have some exclusively made for, one of a kind jewelry at Raindance in Beacon. Be sure to drop by if you like the following pictures because Raindance is the only one who has them - well,  it's all one of a kind, isn't it? - 456 Main Street (next to the Piggy Bank parking lot).

Seven one of a kind Sterling necklaces and seven matching earrings. All with Vintage beads and gemstones.

Also, I'll be making customized picture frame necklaces in conjunction with Paper Presence in Beacon (296 Main Street) throughout April for Mother's Day. I'll have sample necklaces on view there by the end of March. Basically the way it will work is: you pick a frame style and metal type, choose the birthstones (or tell us the birth months) of all the children giving the frame to mom, and give a picture of the kids in question to Lydia to miniaturize. A week or less goes by, and you'll get a customized picture necklace to give to mom.  We're still finalizing all the details but, as I mentioned, should be up and running with that by the end of March. 

In other news: Still waiting to hear back about craft shows for May and the one planned for June was cancelled for lack of location, but I'm definitely going to be at the Park Silly Sunday Market in Park City, Utah on July 26th and August 9th. If you live in that area and want to host a jewelry party while I'm out there, get in touch. We have to speed through to get there in July but, if you're along the route back to NY, and want to throw a jewelry party the second week of August, let me know that too. 

Ok. Well, that's pretty much it for now. Hopefully I'll get time to update ya'll in the near future. If not, I'll make sure I get at least one in for April. Oh Ya. Almost forgot: mark your calenders if you're in NYC and not otherwise engaged on April 9th. Phil will be playing at the Delancey with the Children.... Larkin Grimm is on the bill too. Should be a really good time.
