Summer Summer... Um... Rainstorms! Yay!!

Ok. So; it rained a lot here this week. That was good. Rain in the desert is always good. Especially in the summer.

Finally got some relief from my back and hip acting up constantly for the last 3 weeks. So, after a good chiro session yesterday, I've finally been able to get a few things done. That was also good. Always good to get things done when you've been incapacitated for a while.

Some of those things actually included making new jewelry too. Some of which I will show you here. Just a little further down the page.

This new jewelry, as well as a bunch I didn't make this week, will be debuting tomorrow at Artworks during the start of the Kimball Art Festival. Whoo hoo. Main Street Party Park City.

Of course, as I mentioned, I'm bringing in more jewelry tomorrow than what's pictured here. Including some unique earrings and pendants that I just couldn't get good photos of. Plus a few of my more popular items I've already sold out of. Like the braided bracelets I started making last month.

So, as promised, here are a few of my new versions of requested jewelry. Of course, if you want to see everything I've got at the gallery, you'll just have to stop by.

Ok. Lets start the show and tell:

The earrings are Blue Amazonite and the pendant is Blue Indian Chalcedony

These CZ dusters also have CZs in the SS Leverback hooks

Butterscotch Agate I found in the Woodland, UT area and tumbled up

Big, 10mm, Natural Garnet

Lab Ruby & Labradorite - new popular design I just started making this summer

So, there you have it.

Short and to the point... It's been a long, productive, day and I think I'd like to go out and enjoy the piercing blue sky peeking through the storm clouds as the sun sets. Which is right now.

Hope to see some of you this weekend. Enjoy it even if I don't.

Hooowwwwdy.

Firstly:

Happy day we celebrate the birth of the country by shooting fire into the sky.

Secondly:

Been working on some new stuff... jewelry wise. Thought I would show you two of them. Here they are:

Making these twisty, woven metal bracelets. Got your choice of Brass or Silver Fill over at the Artworks. If you want one in Argentium or Gold Fill (Or even in actual Gold), you can always shoot me an e-mail with the size you need and etc.

Also started doing some coiled rings. Just finished this one:

It has a huge Citrine bead in between Copper petals and coiled in Rose Gold Plated wire (over Brass wire). There is only one. Though, there was another with a Flourite bead. That one sold already (so no point showing it to you, unless you ask;).

So, there's a couple new things. If you have some ideas you'd like to have me try out for you, give me a shout and I'll let you know if I can work it on out.

In the meantime... Thirdly:

Enjoy the holiday weekend and maybe I'll see some of you at Artworks this Sunday during the Park Silly Market

Artworks Peek

Hello again.

As promised, I'm back. ;) With a picture or two from my case at Artworks Gallery.

Here's one:

I'm doing this on a phone, so can't tell how good this looks. Looks a little reflecty to me. Let's try another one.

Hmmm, that seems kind of blurry; how about this one?

Eh, I give up. You'll just have to come in and see what's in there in person!

If you want to see me there when you come in, I'll be at Artworks every Sunday 11-6 now until September... And most of them after that until October. Also Fri & Sat from 11-4 on the same timeline.

Hope to see some of you soon and also that you're having a great weekend.

PS. Starting up the Newsletter again too. So, if you aren't on it and want to be, you should sign up. There's a little box to do that right over there on the right side of the page... see it?

Two Years Later...

Seriously; it's been exactly two years since I last wrote anything here. Wow.

The accident turned out to be more serious than first expected... and not just my hand. Bulging disk in my neck and permanent pain in my left hip that was never there before plus a constant ache in my mid back that wasn't there prior. The neck especially has caused a lot of dexterity problems including severe physical dyslexia. Sitting and looking down for any length of time is still a problem.

So, while I've been constantly seeing a spine therapist and chiropractor for the last two years, I've also mostly been avoiding the computer as much as possible... Not making jewelry as much as I'd like... Nor have I participated in any art or craft or anything shows.

However...

I have recently been working on the wire stuff again and I also started doing a bit of stringing and repair work over at Woodbury Jewelers (on Main Street in Park City next to Crosby's where the Flat Rabbit used to be). As of this year, I also have my wire jewelry for sale at Artworks Gallery (on Main Street in Park City across from the Post Office next to Robert Kelly). Only took me a year and a half working over there at Artworks; and I had to start with jewelry I still had left over. But now you can find me and my wire work there this summer if you're going to be in Park City. I'll be working at Artworks 11-6 on Sundays for the whole Silly Season so, hopefully, I'll see some of you then.

To be fair, I am not back to where I was before (or want to be) with my wire skills, but I have been able to make a few new things and I am getting better with each new piece I make. As long as I don't work for too long at a time - then it gets worse again. It really has been a matter of relearning everything I could do before the accident. Plus, it takes me much longer than it used to and I have to get up and walk around or do sit ups or anything else a lot more frequently so, I can't get much done each day. It's pretty frustrating.

On the plus side, since I'm having to relearn everything anyway, I've started teaching myself some new weaving techniques and hope to have a whole new look happening by the end of summer. See how it goes.

So. That's the update. VERY late. But there you have it. I'll try to keep up with this much more frequently now and even upload a few pictures of the new projects as they get done. I think I'll try to get a picture of my jewelry case at Artworks up for you all to see next week as well.

Ok. That's the news for now and hopefully there will be pics and more jewelry news soon. Til then...

BTW. I've had to get up and walk around twice now just to write this. I'm going to finish now and get ready to head off to PT and Chiro.

Ok, I know. It's been a long time since I wrote anything on this blog.

Google has changed policies... Blogspot has changed it's look and functionality...

I got in a car accident and broke my hand... on Xmas Day... Had other things to deal with and didn't really feel like typing for a while - cause it hurt a lot.

But...

It's mostly better and most of the aftermath is actually after... Not all of it, but most of it... So, I'll be blogging and newslettering, and making jewelry again this summer.

Keep an eye out for new stuff and general news... Once again.

November 25, 2011

Happy? Black Friday...

I know none of you are the type to have camped out early for today's sales... or even to show up at 5am... most of you are probably more likely to have participated in the "Occupy Walmart" movement - or some other such thing.

Though, there probably are a few of you who took advantage of some sales today... maybe just online at least (like I did - for jewelry supplies)...

So... with Black Friday coming to a fast close, and Cyber Monday quick on it's heals; and the brand new Green Tuesday added to the list for good measure; I thought I'd go ahead and offer a little sale of my own... just for the Blog readers:

If you go to my Etsy Store (I'll be adding to it all weekend, fyi) and use the code: BLOG15 at check out, you'll get 15% OFF anything in my Etsy Store. Plus, shipping is FREE. Yay.

So, yah. Anytime you want to shop for my jewelry between now and Tuesday night, or Wednesday morning (whenever I get around to deactivating the code)... you can use it as often as you like. Because... Say, I add something you really want - or want to gift - after you already ordered something... because I want to make sure you're covered. ;]

Adding stuff to the store as I type this... Going to be adding some rings (that haven't been in my Etsy yet) tomorrow... not sure what I'll add on Sunday. You'll just have to keep checking and see what's there.

Oh, and even with the discount, I'm sending 10% of all my sales to NPR & PBS until the end of the year... So you'll be getting a bargain AND making a donation to a public icon at the same time. Yay, again.

Did I mention that you can even use the discount on Gift Certificates? Yep. Give someone a Gift they can choose themselves, and still get it at 15% OFF the value! It'll still be worth the full value, and only you (and I) will know you didn't pay that much for it! ;]

So go ahead and shop til you pop... Not only is it good for the economy... And therapeutic... It is that time of the year; after all.

Happy Shopping Days... ;]
