Will You Be The One to Win My Heart?

Hey everybody! Hope you're having a great weekend!

I wrote a song about cookies in my sleep, and now, I can't remember how it went. Except for the chorus that went: Cookies, cookies, cookies, cookies, cooooookieeeees... I think I'll make some cookies today.

Oh, that's not why I'm on this thing!

I'm here to let you know you can win one of my hearts! No, I'm not an alien with extras. I just made a little heart shaped pendant for the Handmade Movement's Handmade Giveaway that's going on right now. It's Brass and has a little Ruby Red Cubic Zirconia in the center. Here, let me show you:

(this one is a different design than the other two... chain not include... sorry)

Oh, and I made two similar ones you can get in my Etsy store, if you don't win, so you can get you one too. (Or, if you don't get any of them, you can get in touch and I'll custom make you one instead.)

First there's this more rare, Teal colored, heart shaped Cubic Zirconia pendant:

(I haven't been able to find this color CZ since I got it 6 years ago)

Then, this Pink Cubic Zirconia heart shaped pendant:

(I can get more in this color, so the Teal CZ heart is more unique)

There's another heart shaped pendant that's all swirly and elaborate in my shop too. But that one I made before the Handmade Movement Giveaway pendants. I also added four rings with heart shaped stones and a matching pair of earrings and pendant with heart shaped Cubic Zirconia to my store last week too. Wanna see em? Ok. Click here.

Let's see, what else?

Oh, I got to meet one of the other S.N.E.A.K. Team members yesterday at the Tight Knit Market. How often does that happen? Very cool. Want to see her store? Ok, then click back there in the question.

K. That's it for now. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, have a great week, see some of you at tomorrow's Sneak, and please let me know what you think of the new heart jewelry.

It Never Hurts to Help

As many of you know, I sent 10% of last months online sales to Habitat for Humanity ($34 rounded up to $35). A lot of people have seen the ads for texting $10 to the Red Cross to help the people in Haiti, and many of you may have even sent money that way. Well, Habitat is trying to raise money to build shelters for all the homeless people in Haiti and would love it if you could send them $10 (or more if you can) too. Since I sent my donation as open use, hopefully it will be used where it is needed most. However, my small contribution will only go so far. But, as they say: Every little bit helps.

To that end, at the end of this month, I'm sending 10% of all online sales to the Natural Resources Defense Council. They've been fighting to keep our air and water safe and our natural heritage alive for years. It takes a lot to keep on top of all the legislation that will do more harm than good, and to let people know and lobby for legislation that will do more good. So naturally, the NRDC can always use financial help, and the lending of our voices, to do that. So far, I've only raised $4 through online sales, but I have two new online stores and am constantly adding new items to all three shops.

Which is to say, please have a look Here, Here, and Here, so you can see if there's anything that makes you want to help me raise more funding for the NRDC. Oh, and keep in mind, if you order custom work online that will also be counted toward the donation total. Whichever charity I'm donating to that month.

Yes, I am choosing a different charity each month. There are lot of worthwhile causes and efforts that I'd like to support. I do sign petitions and write to representatives, but I'd like to be able to help a little more this year. But I need your help to do it.

So... Thanks for helping out in any way that you can and I hope you'll help me to be able to send in a decent donation to the NRDC at the end of this month... And for help supporting deserving charities all through the coming year.

The SNEAK is on!

Just wanted to drop a quick line about a new Handmade Movement I'm all gettin involved in and the Etsy Team that supports it. The Etsy S.N.E.A.K. Team.

Been sneakin around with them for a couple of weeks now and decided to join the ranks. I'm converted, what can I say? I got to be the first person to buy something from a great Etsy artist who hadn't had any sales yet. That was very cool.

What the hell am I talking about? Well go HERE and find out...

Or, you can read this first and then go there:

The S.N.E.A.K. is all about helping out the handmade community and, more specifically, people who have shops on Etsy with few or no sales. We plan the attack. Hang out waiting for the appointed time. Then sneak up on the unsuspecting victim in one fell swoop!

Oh, it really is that exciting!

Well.... it's a barrel of monkeys anyway!

In fact, there a Sneak Attack going on at this very moment... If you feel so inclined you should head over to the Handmade Movement to read more details and find out who today's victims are.

Oh, and there's a weekly giveaway too... In fact, I'll have an item up for the giveaway next month my own self. Stay tuned for more details if you are chompin to get your chance at that.

Otherwise, just get your butt over to check out the sneaky peeps over at the Handmade Movement.

Thanks,

Pluggy McPlugplug
Proud new Member of Team S.N.E.A.K.

Happy Belated New Year!

Can you do that? Like a birthday... or anniversary... or congratulations...

I think I'm waiting for the Lunar New Year to start feeling like the year changed over, cause it just don't feel like it yet to me. You? Been getting pictures taken and jewelry added to my new online store and doing day to day stuff and just realized that we're already over a week into the New Year. Still doesn't feel any different. Anybody else?

Well, I thought I'd take a few minutes to reflect on the past year none-the-less. Though, I haven't really felt like writing too much lately either. Today, I do a bit more than I did yesterday though, so I thought I'd take a stab at it. Ok...

Um...

Yep.

What was I talking about?

Wow, the year just flew by, didn't it?

Really though... I met a lot of great people this last year and hope to catch up with some of them in the new one. Funny how that works out. We all get so caught up in the day to day that 2 months go by and it's like you just met someone yesterday and still haven't gone out to get that cup of coffee... or tea... or a bagel... or muffin... You get the point.

Ok. I'm just reaching now.

So...

Happy Belated Birthday! um sorry... Happy New Year! Here's a picture for you:

Phil took that on our New Years Day Walk... we walked around Sterling Lake... and um, I just am not good at posing for pictures so... Enjoy!
